Friends of Alfred Ceramic Art Museum

Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is calling on your support in helping us provide a broader funding base for the Museum. Membership helps us to fund our changing exhibition program, special educational events and care for the permanent collection.

 

Like most museums, our membership system is divided into multiple tiers to reflect different capacities for giving. Please join us at whatever level works best for you!

All contributions to the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum are tax deductible to the extent allowed under the law. All contributions will be used for collections, conservation, exhibitions, or educational programs unless otherwise specified.

Membership Tiers and Benefits

  • $25 Discounted Basic Members (for Students and Seniors only). These members receive the same benefits as Basic Members.
  • $35 Basic Members. For around $3/month, Basic Members receive free access to the museum, our annual newsletter Ceramophile, 10% off all catalog purchases, and access to the Empire State Museums Reciprocal Program (providing free admission to 21 different museums, galleries, and art centers in New York State.)
  • $50 Family/Individual Plus Members. For about $4/month, Family and Individual Plus members can in addition can bring one accompanied guest per visit (people under 17 are always free!).
  • $125 Supporting Members. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For about $10/month, Supporting Members additionally receive a one year subscription to Ceramics Now, as well as membership in the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association, which provides free admission and/or discounts at over 800 institutions across the country!
  • $250 Ceramic Connoisseurs. For around $20/month, Ceramic Connoisseurs additionally receive 50% discounts on all catalogs, and can bring two accompanied guests.
  • $500 Patrons of the Arts. For about $40/month, Patrons of the Arts additionally receive a free catalog of their choice.
  • $1,000 Benefactors additionally receive new catalogs as they are printed
  • $5,000 Kiln Gods additionally receive a private exhibition tour with the director for up to four guests
  • $10,000+ Visionaries additionally receive exhibition-related naming opportunities. 

Becoming a member is easy. You can send us a letter with your contact details and a check made out to Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, or you can sign up with a credit card by following the steps below:

  1. Follow this link to the main Alfred giving page.
  2. IMPORTANT: Choose "Alfred Ceramic Art Museum" under the "Designation" drop down menu. (If you forget this step we will not be able to process your membership!)
  3. Choose "Other" in the amount area to type in whatever amount you would like to give according to the tiers described above.
  4. Just to be on the safe side, in the "Leave a Comment" section indicate that this is for museum membership!
